See the Other Side of the World

Ever wondered what’s on the exact opposite side of the world from you? Like if you dug a hole straight through the center of the Earth (if it were possible)?

The technical name of such a place is the antipodal point; the region of the Earth’s surface diametrically opposite from another point. Using www.antipodemap.com you can find the antipode of any place on Earth using Google Maps.

Hint: If you start digging that hole in the continental U.S. and you’re hoping to come out on dry land, you might want to start digging in northern Montana (although Hawaii has better prospects for actually finding someone on the other side).
